KAT VON D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation
I purchased this little gem about a month ago now and I have to say I'm in a love/hate relationship with it! -Skin Type Evaluation/Overall Rating-
Oily: 5/5 Coverage: 5/5
Combination Skin: 3/5 Color Selection: 4/5
Dry Skin: 1/5 All In All Rating: 4/5
Love:
-Coverage(it's absolutely amazing!)-How little product you have to use( I use about half a pump and that's already too much!)
-Packaging( while I can't even see that I've used any of the product from the testers at Sephora it was very clear that you can get all of the product out.)
-Price: Only $34.00, for a high-end foundation and for how little product you have to use it's quite a good deal.
Hate:
-In my opinion this product is not buildable. It goes on thick but does not feel heavy. When I am having a bad skin day I tend to go for this foundation but when my skin is clear and free of any red marks I'd much rather stick to my Naked Skin by Urban Decay.
-Packaging…Wait? Wasn't that just a love? It was but that's what I mean about the whole love/hate relationship thing going on here. While it's great that you can use all of the product up without wasting any. The opening where the foundation comes out of came with a little plastic cap to put over it but mine never could stay on. Even with the little cap on I found that the foundation got dried out and when I pump the product out to apply it there would always be dry leftover foundation in my hand. Not a big deal at all just wish it wasn't this way.
Overall Conclusion:
I have very dry skin and this is a Matte foundation. But from what the ladies at Sephora said it seemed like it worked well with any skin type. I would say I disagree that now. I told them I wanted more of a full coverage foundation for bad skin days and this does cover it. I think the problem is I love the coverage and the small amount of product you have to use(you really do get a lot for your $.)But it just simply doesn't work with my skin type but if you have oily skin I would recommend this foundation all of the way.
